LUCAS JANZ 1983 - 2011 Lucas passed away while swimming early Sunday morning, August 14, 2011 under the light of a full moon. Luc will be greatly missed by his parents Len and Hermina Janz, his siblings Jessica (and husband Jamie and their daughter Adeline), Joe (and girlfriend Shannon), and Megan; by his girlfriend Yaara, as well as by his extended family and many friends. He will be warmly remembered for his adventurous enthusiasm, his passion for listening to, creating, and performing music, and his desire to live a full, simple, honest, natural life. His unique balance of stoic thoughtfulness and spontaneous humour and wit brightened and enlightened the lives of so many of us. We are blessed to be left with the artefacts of his creative drive channelled into drawing, writing, music, and craftsmanship, the quality and quantity of which are an inevitable result of his high personal standards and his strong motivation. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, at Elim Church, 30 Main Street, Grunthal, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, (www.natureconservancy.ca) or to Mennonite Central Committee - Somalia Relief, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9.
