EUNICE MARY BURNS March 30, 1921 - August 19, 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eunice Burns on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Tuxedo Villa. To cherish her memory, Eunice leaves her three sons: Gary (Cheryl), Jim (Pat) and Randy (Marie); grandchildren: Colleen (Frank), Tami (Todd), Robert, Kristian (Nancy) and Kevin; great-grandchildren: Krysta, Joshua, Bailley, Dominique and Chantal, as well as many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Agnes Thompson. Eunice was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Harry, on January 13, 2005, her parents Alice and Bill (Pop) Thompson and her brother Maurice (Tommy) Thompson. Eunice was born in Winnipeg on March 30, 1921. She attended Lord Selkirk School in Elmwood, St. John's High School and furthered her education at Success Business College. Mom was very active in sports during her school years and later her main love was curling at Fort Rouge and Granite Curling Clubs and many years golfing at Niakwa Country Club. Mom had very fond memories of her life at their summer home at LacLu with Harry and the boys and their families for many years. Mom always had a smile on her face and was most happy when helping others. The family wishes to thank the staff at Portsmouth Retirement Home and Tuxedo Villa for their care and support of Mom. In keeping with Eunice's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place.
