NICHOLAS EIDSE 1921 - 2011 Dad passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2011, at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris, at the age of 90 years. Dad leaves to cherish his love, his children Mary Ann (Ernie Loewen), Florence (Danny Loewen), Elmer (Lucille Brandt), Larry (Sandi Groening), Jim (Terri Thiessen), Marlene (Clarence Dueck), Karen (Lloyd Kornelsen), and Laverna Eidse (Rob Rempel); 31 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Mary in 2007 and two great-grandchildren. Dad cared deeply for each individual member of the family whether child or grandchild. He was curious of the world and world affairs, cultivating friendships broadly, reading widely, and listening to C.B.C. radio every night. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on Friday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosenort Evangelical Mennonite Church. There will be a service at the Pleasant Valley Evangelical Mennonite Church, to share memories and stories, Thursday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. The family would like to express their warm appreciation to the staff at the Red River Valley Lodge, for their love and care for Dad, during his stay there.
