WALTER MICHAEL KOZERA September 29, 1929 August 22, 2011 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce dad's peaceful passing after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, of 56 years; children Rose (Percy), Ken (Kathy), Pat (Ed), and Chris (Martin); 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother John (Lorraine) and sister Josephine (Ken). Dad was born in Meleb and enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, cooking and farming. His family meant the most to him. He loved company and enjoyed playing cards and games. Dad was an animal lover and quite the comedian. He worked for the Dept. of Highways for 30 years and retired in 1989. Pallbearers will be John and Todd Kozera, Leonard Kohler, Greg Arnason, Joe Spulnick and Walter Skazyk. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prayers will be held Thursday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Michael's Church in Gimli and funeral mass will be held Friday, August 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Michael's Church in Gimli.
