ROBERT JOHN VOLK The Circle of Life became completed with the sudden passing of Robert John Volk on August 22, 2011. He is survived by his wife Veronica Volk (nee Nixon); twin boys Jon (Trisha) and Tim (Jill) as well as his canine companion and great pal, Katie. To know Dad was to realize that life is a gift. Being confined to a wheelchair, he could be found in events, on the computer, or as those who really knew him well would say, always writing. An avid reader, Bob truly enjoyed exploring the world of literature, taking from it many quotes and words of wisdom, which he passed onto his sons and wife every day. If Bob loved anything, it was the Bombers. Passing along his love for the team to his two boys, nothing mattered more to him than watching the game with his two sons. While he didn't get to see them win the Grey Cup, one more time, you can guarantee that he will be there in spirit, cheering on the team he loved more than anything. Memorial Mass will be held at the Holy Cross Parish, 252 Dubuc Street, on Saturday August 27, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, MB. The family asks that is lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
