BRIAN DENNIS STEFISHEN It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Brian Stefishen. He left us after a mighty battle with cancer on August 17, 2011, one day before his 48th birthday at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Brian will be missed by his long time companion, Karen. He will also be missed but never forgotten by brother Gerry (Pearl), sister Irene (George), brothers Ernie (Ruth), Bob, Gord (Janice) and Larry (Debbe). He has numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Brian is survived by many family members and friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Steve Stefishen on January 2, 2007 and Pauline Stefishen on November 11, 2008. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Lynda Stefishen on February 24, 2011. Brian was raised near Stony Mountain on a dairy farm and at an early age, the family moved to Winnipeg. Brian had a zest for life and lived his life to the fullest. He was a truck driver by trade, and worked for Paragon Industries Ltd. prior to no longer being able to work because of his illness. Some of Brian's interests included listening to different genres of music and building models. He had a love for animals. Brian was a very giving and generous person. The celebration of Brian's life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers and sister and long time friends Steve Wakaluk and Van Morash. The family would like to thank Riverview Health Centre for the care and compassion that was shown to Brian during his stay. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Rest in peace, Brian. Not how did he die, but how did he live. Not what did he gain, but what did he give These are the units to measure the worth Of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
