AUDREY RUTH ODDLEIFSON 1936 - 2011 After a courageous battle with cancer; it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Audrey on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Riverview Health Centre in her 75th year. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Gestur and Minnie, brother Harold, sister Joyce and brother-in-law Walter. She is survived by her daughter Lori (Leonard) her grandchildren Erin and Erik and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Audrey was born in Arborg, MB on January 24, 1936. Upon completion of high school she moved to Winnipeg where she started a career with Great West Life. After several years she moved on and spent years working at a bank, floral shop and finally retiring from Transport Canada. She loved cooking; especially making bread and headcheese she also enjoyed curling, playing cards and entertaining. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Interment is Saturday, August 27, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Haga Cemetery in Arborg, Manitoba. A viewing will take place on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A very special thanks to Don Chaboyer and his family over the last few years for always being a source of comfort and friendship. Thanks to Dr. L.F. Smith, and The Dakota Walkin Clinic staff, Riverview Palliative Care and the home care staff for the wonderful care Audrey received.
