BERNARD (BERNIE) WILLIAM LOWE
Date of Passing: Aug 22, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNARD (BERNIE) WILLIAM LOWE It is with great sorrow, after a courageous battle with cancer, Bernie passed away at Riverview Health Centre with Cecile by his side on August 22, 2011. Left to cherish his memory, are his spouse Cecile, sons Rod and Scott (Ann) and grandchildren Matthew and Brianna. He is also survived by his sister Vivian (Fraser) and sister-in-law Arleen, and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was predeceased by his parents Eric and Hazel Lowe and his brother Ivan. Bernie served with the RCMP for 28 years and retired from CSIS in 1986. After his retirement, he hauled freight throughout Western Canada and retired for a second time in 1997. Bernie was a gifted artist and loved to paint flowers and scenery in all mediums. Later on in life, he took on woodworking and built everything from cabinets to picture frames. During the course of his illness, he was re-introduced to his passion of trains and model railroading. According to Bernie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Patricia Harris and her staff at the Grace Cancer Care Clinic for all their support over the past three years. We would also like to thank the nurses with the Palliative Care Program especially Chris and the Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bernie's memory to your charity of choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
