MARIE SALTEL (nee CARRIERE) July 1, 1910 August 20, 2011 A loving heart stopped beating, Mother passed away peacefully at Foyer Valade Care Home on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Mother was predeceased by her husband Andre; son Alphonse and his wife Pauline; daughter Terry and her husband Paul Mault; daughter-in-law Alice; all her 11 siblings, as well as two infant siblings; all nine brothers and sisters-in-law; she is survived by her daughter Denise (Gilbert) Mignot; son Louis; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mother had trials in her life, but she was very courageous, never giving up. By nature she was a happy person, who had a beautiful smile and laughter. She always cheered us up if we were having difficulties. She loved to play cards with family and friends, where there was much laughter and joking. Mother willingly babysat for us, the grandchildren were always happy Memere was coming to babysit, they knew they would be loved and made to feel special, while having a fun time with her. Mother was good with her hands - she sewed beautiful clothes for herself and the children. She loved doing crafts, knitting, crocheting, making toys and etc. She always had ready a knitted baby outfit for the newborns to go home with from the hospital. Mother had a beautiful singing voice, and would sing our favorite songs at bedtime. She could play some musical instruments by ear. Mother was a very kind, compassionate and forgiving person. We are fortunate to have had her for so many years. We will miss her greatly. You were always there When we needed you No task was too great or small With a loving heart and willing hand For us you did them all. The family would like to express their gratitude to the dedicated staff at Foyer Valade, for their compassion and tender loving care. Mom loved you all. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service was held on Friday, August 26 in the Coutu Funeral Chapel. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.
