HELEN MACHALEK (nee MATEWUSH) January 12, 1923 August 16, 2011 After a long and hard fought battle with Alzheimers, Helene passed away peacefully during the night, two days short of her 66th wedding anniversary. She was predeceased by her parents George and Anna, and her brother Fred. She leaves to mourn her memory, husband John; sons Terrence (Willie) and Walter (Mandy); grandchildren Natasha (Tim), Stephen (Lindsay), Terrence II (Jill), and Darren; great- grandchildren Jayde and Alexander; brother Walter (Peggy) and sister Stella, plus numerous relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Evergreen Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge for the loving care they gave Helene during her residence there. Also, much appreciation to the Home Care staff from the WHRA. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. A Memorial Service will be held at Fred Douglas Lodge, 1275 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg, MB at 1:30 p.m. with a light lunch to follow. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 www.gleneden-mb.ca
