MARY NIELSEN (nee FORDECZKA) 1915 - 2011 Peacefully on August 22, with family by her side, Mom left us to fulfill her dreams and join the Lord. Predeceased by her husband Viggo in 1968, parents Fred and Anna Fordeczka, brothers Walter, Mike and George, and sisters Olivia and Chris. Mary's interests were many. Sewing and enrolling in a pattern making course led to a career in dressmaking and many intricate wedding gowns. Then joining the Victoria Order of Nurses, of which she was a proud and compassionate member, she made many life long friendships. Mary and Viggo shared a love for gardening and being in their greenhouse. Always dabbling in new ventures, like raising chinchillas, wine making, or hosting family bonfires and toboggan parties along the much loved Seine River. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Marianna Lamoureux (Jerry) of Calgary and Bretta Sutherland (Bill) of Winnipeg; four grandchildren Roger, Cheryl, Tami and Dayna, two great-grandsons Danny and Dylan and two great-great-grandchildren Phoenix and Legacy. I'm Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me, I took His hand when I heard his call: I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy, A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you sunshine for tomorrow, My life's been full; I savoured much - Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now. He set me free - Author Unknown - Through life's trials and tribulations, Mom was always an inspiration, with strength and determination. Our family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Coates, St. Boniface 6th floor medicine staff, Manitoba Home Care staff for enabling Mom to remain in her home with their dedicated help. Thank you. Mom requested no funeral or memorial service, but rather a donation to the Red Cross for Somalia.
