LAURETTA L. YUILL April 5, 1924 - August 10, 2011 Lauretta passed away at Foyer Valade after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Duncan Yuill, parents Thaddee and Flodora Gentes (nee Pelland), brother Leo, sisters Nora Fisher and Rita Zelmer. She is survived by her sister, Helen Campbell (Rod), daughter Sharon Alley, son Ted Murphy (Claudette), grandchildren Robert Fontaine (Maria), Michelle Murphy (Matt), Patrick Fontaine, Michael Murphy (Brandy), Matthew Fontaine, great-grandchildren, Valkyrie, Mika, Faelen, and Maceo, niece Bonnie, nephews Richard and Rod. Our mother was a strong, independent and inquisitive woman. She was always learning something new. For example in the 70s she studied computer programming at both Red River Community College and the University of Manitoba. Larrie worked for many years in the plate glass business. She was employed by Consolidated Plate Glass and Allan's Auto Glass. She was the first woman in Manitoba to be a salesperson in this industry. In later years she worked for the Federal Government at the Department of Supply and Services. Upon retiring Lauretta resided at Accuiel Colombien. Mom lead an active life. She participated in the activities at her residence, volunteered at St. Boniface Hospital and Age and Opportunity. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, canoeing, cross country skiing and being on the computer. Mom did not liked to be cooped up and was outdoors everyday. She would walk miles travelling all over the city. At her request a private family ceremony was held and her ashes were scattered. Mom you are loved and missed.
