BEVERLEY BROWN Bev passed away peacefully on August 26, 2011, at the Grace Hospital. Bev is survived by her son, Doug of Kingston, Ontario and daughter, Donna (Ken) of Winnipeg. She is also survived by her brothers, Ron (Shirley), Wayne (Gail) of Brandon, and Brian (Connie) of Winnipeg; sisters, Linda from Portage la Prairie and Barb (Kenzie) of Brandon, as well as many friends from her community involvement. In lieu of flowers, Bev has requested donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

The world and Winnipeg in particular were truly blessed to have Bev shine her unending energy, enthusiasm and powerful spirit on them. I came to be friends with Bev through her 30 years of involvement with Big Sisters Association of Winnipeg and Big Brothers Big Sisters Association, where she nurtured and has maintained to this day friendships with four Little Sisters, Nadine, Debra, Melissa and Amanda, and volunteered in so many other capacities as well.
