DAVID HOSSACK It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of husband, father, poppy/grandpa, brother, uncle and friend David Donald William Hossack on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the age of 70. Leaving to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Ruth (Moffatt); children Sharon (Bruce), Beth (Dave) and Jamie; grandchildren Danny, Aaron, Alex, Cameron, Christie, Allyssa, and Susie; cherished pet J.C. (named after Dad's favourite singer Johnny Cash); sisters Dorothy (Jack), Bev, and Jessie (Dennis); sisters-in-law Joan and Shirley (Ritchie) along with many nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by parents Roderick and Dorothy Hossack, in-laws Robert and Laura Moffatt and brothers-in-law Dave Pyper and Lloyd Sank. Dave retired after many years in the farm machinery business. Family meant a lot to Dave and he really enjoyed the time spent with them. He had many interests: reading, sports, watching documentaries on the history channel, searching on the internet and sending e-mails to family members ALL TYPED IN CAPITAL LETTERS. One of his most recent accomplishments was learning how to send text messages to the family. Dave's sense of humour will be sadly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace General Hospital for taking such good care of Dad and the family during his time at the hospital. Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. A private interment has taken place. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish, they may make a donation to the Manitoba Lung Association or to a charity of their choice. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

Dad, it's so hard to believe it has been over 3 years since you left us. I miss you like crazy! I know I haven't been out to your grave for a long time, but we will come to you on April 1st, the second anniversary of Danny's passing. We all miss you both like crazy, but take comfort in the fact that you are together, watching over us. Love ya lots, Pops. - Posted by: Beth Balanduk (Daughter) on: Mar 30, 2014

We had so many good times. You always made me smile or laugh out loud. You had quite a sense of humour and often made my day. The old White gang misses you. Thank you Ruth for sharing him with us. - Posted by: Al Dueck (Friend and co-worker) on: Jan 15, 2013
