Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE LARRY (BUDDY) LAVALLEE Peacefully, on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Lawrence Larry Buddy Lavallee of Winnipeg, MB, beloved husband of Lorrie Lavallee, passed away at the age of 74 years. Prayers will be said at the St. Ambroise Roman Catholic Church on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Funeral service will follow with the Reverend Father Eric Giddins celebrant. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Larry was born at Portage la Prairie, son of Frank and Margaret Lavallee. He was raised and received his education in St. Ambroise. At an early age he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and resided with the Nagele's where he learned the dry cleaning business. In 1965 he married Lorraine Simon. He then operated two dry cleaning stores in Minneapolis before returning to Canada in 1979. They operated several dry cleaning outlets in Winnipeg before starting up Southdale Cleaners. In his earlier years Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and also duck and deer hunting in the St. Ambroise area. He also enjoyed all types of sports and horse racing. Predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Christine and Leatrice (Ralph) Ducharme; brothers-in-law Bill and Emi, and niece Lindsay Ducharme, Larry leaves to mourn his passing his wife Lorrie; son Phillip (Claudia) Lavallee of Winnipeg; three sisters, Mary Lamirande, Dorothy Miller, both of Portage la Prairie, and Joyce (Tom) Ramsey of Regina, SK, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A tribute DVD in memory of Larry will be produced by the Omega Funeral Home.
