DAISY GRIFFITH (nee SMITH) Daisy Griffith (nee Smith) passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg with her husband and family with her. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband of 50 years, Reverend Fitz Griffith, children Desmond Griffith (Shelley), Ernest Griffith (Shannon), grandchildren Skyler and Jemma, brothers Lloyd Smith Jr. (Veronica) and family, Dudley Smith (Cynthia) and family, sisters Hazel Blackman and family, Lady Ina Wood (Rt. Reverend Sir Wilfred) and family, Vilma Husbands (Rudolph), Lolita Greene (Nigel) and family, Monica Smith (Lisa), other family members in Barbados, England and U.S.A, sister-in-law Violet Connell (Dr. Gloria and Diane), close friends Marjorie Clarke (Glen), Claudine (Tim), and Muriel Giles (Clifford). Daisy left Barbados in 1955 and moved to Canada in 1975. She had the ability to see the funny side of things and she enjoyed a good laugh. Her pastime activities were knitting, dressmaking and solving crossword puzzles. The family would like to thank Dr. Bovell and colleagues of the Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg and Dr. T. St. Goddard and colleagues of the Riverview Health Centre for their care. Viewing of Daisy will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. A celebration for the life of Daisy will be held on Friday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith St. with the burial service at 1:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
