JOHN HENRY BROWN 1931 - 2011 Peacefully on August 28, 2011, at the St. Boniface Hospital, John finished his battle with cancer. John was born November 27, 1931 in Carman, Manitoba. He lived in the Stephenfield area for 33 years and in 1964 John moved to Eriksdale, Manitoba with his parents to continue farming. In 1978 John married Kathleen Arnfinson (Lamb) and continued farming on the family farm. Although John continued to farm, he also worked at various other jobs in and around the community. In 2005 John and Kay moved to the Leisure Lodge in Eriksdale and continued to go on various outings. John enjoyed bingo, gardening, dances, playing cards, curling and visiting with family and friends. Through these activities he met many friends and maintained these relationships for many years. John was always ready to lend a helping hand. Every Christmas John took pleasure in preparing his special fudge for all to enjoy. John was predeceased by his loving wife Kay (Lamb), his parents Henry and Pearl Brown. John leaves to mourn his sister Minnie (Garth), his nephews Brad (Judy), Daryl (Robyn), his stepchildren Everette (Diane), Shyrlene, Ina, Wendy (Dennis), Cathy (Keith) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Ebbling-Treon and all the staff of A6 South at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Interment at the Scotch Bay Cemetery will follow the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scotch Bay Cemetery Fund, c/o Phyllis Lamb, P.O. Box 248, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0.
