Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE MARY DUNSMORE (nee MACKLING) 1918 - 2011 Elsie Dunsmore passed away on August 27, 2011, one day shy of her 93rd birthday. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Wayne, son-in-law Dennis, granddaughter Amy (Trevor), great-grandchildren Xander and Katelyn, and brothers David (Jeanne) and Al (Pat). Elsie was predeceased by husband Tom, husband Clay, son Tommy, daughter Diana, and brothers John and Earl. Elsie was born in Winnipeg to John and Ann Mackling on August 28, 1918. She grew up in St. James, and then moved with her young family to Russell, MB in 1952. Elsie remained an active member of the community for over 50 years. She ran a hairdressing shop in her home, sang in the choir at Knox United Church, was a member of the Russell (Minnedosa) chapter of Eastern Star, curled at the Russell Curling Club, and could often be found on the links at the Russell Golf Course. She loved to garden and enjoyed heading out for an early morning swim by her cottage at Silver Beach. In her retirement years, Elsie became a Winter Texan', dividing her time between her home in Russell and her second home in Weslaco, Texas. Elsie was a lady who truly lived life to the fullest, and her cheerful and generous personality touched all those who knew her. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Deer Lodge Centre, Lodge 7, for their kindness and good care of Elsie over the last few years. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Knox United Church in Russell, MB.
