MARGARET CAROLINE FORBISTER (PORTH) August 18, 1923 - August 29, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our loving mother and grandmother, Margaret. Mom passed away on August 29, 2011 which is 32 years to the day since the passing of our dad, her loving husband, Tache. Mom is survived by eight children Connie, Les (Laureen), Merv (Nancy), Deb (Rick), Grace (Randy), Art (Sue), Dan (Priscilla), and Jim (Tami); 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Evelyn Porth; many special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Tache, parents Bill and Jessie, brothers Bill and Jack, and son-in-law Charlie. Mom was born at Little Bullhead and it was in this area that she met the only man she ever loved, her husband Tache. They first raised their family in Riverton. In 1969 they moved to Norway House where they enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing, as well as hosting many musical gatherings. Thanks to Archie and Jane Budd who opened their door to her after she moved away, mom was able to return a couple of times a year for extended visits. After dad passed away in 1979 she returned to Riverton where she enjoyed growing her garden, camping and fishing, driving her boat and skidoo, and socializing with her many friends and relatives. Thanks to the love and dedication of her niece Cynthia and her family, mom was able to remain living independently in Riverton for a lot longer than she otherwise would have. Mom was a character to say the least. She was strong yet gentle, strict yet loving, opinionated yet accepting, feisty yet dainty, and fun loving but would drop everything if someone was sick or needed her. One of the best life lessons that mom left her children and grandchildren was to not blame others for your mistakes but to take responsibility for your own actions. Thank you to the staff at Middlechurch Home who took special care of mom, especially those who appreciated her sweetness, her affection, and the fact that she never complained. Funeral service will take place at Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 3 at 2:00 p.m. As per mom's wishes there will be no viewing. Interment will take place following the service in the Riverton Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons Darren, Daniel, Devon, Conrad, Tache, Lukas, Nikolas, Randy and David. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Jonasson, Keith Jonasson, Johnny Jonasson, Maurice Willis, Conrad Porth, Todd Thomsen, Larry Ducharme and Glen Flett.
