Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEON PATRICK MCIVOR August 24, 1955 - August 30, 2011 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Leon McIvor on August 30, 2011. Leon leaves behind his beloved wife Sandy, daughters Kelly Gregorchuk (Greg) and Ashley DaPalma (Anthony), the joys of his life, his grandchildren Brady, Antonio and Ella, his parents John and Irene McIvor, his siblings Geoff McIvor (Audrey), Lindsae Laing(Garnet), brother-in-law Wayne Zubek (Evelyn) sister-in-law, Gerry Kudlak (Gord), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald. Leon was a kind and gentle man who would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He adored his grandchildren and worked hard to provide all he could for his family. His rough sarcastic exterior fooled no one, he was gentle hearted, emotional and had a beautiful soul. Leon recently started living his dream, he and Sandy purchased a lake front cabin at lake St. George and you couldn't pry the smile from his face. He spent his final weeks fishing with his children and grandchildren and performing renovations to the cabin to make it into all the he wanted it to be. His passions were hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and anything outdoors, and when the day was done, you could find him sitting in his recliner reading a western novel or watching an old John Wayne movie. Leon, you will be forever loved and missed terribly. You have left an imprint on the hearts of every person that knew you. Leon, Dad, Poppa - We'll Love You Always and Forever. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St. Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6 MacKENZIE FUNERAL HOME (204) 467-2525

I was so shocked to find out that a fellow school mate had passed away so suddenly. Sorry for your loss... I knew him from grade 3 to 8 while attending Grade School in Stony Mountain. - Posted by: Catherine (grade school acquaintence, lived in Stony Mountain) on: Jul 23, 2013

My poppa was the best man ever to live. He was smarter than everybody at his work and when his boss needed help, he would call him. Our last words together was telling each other of all the plans we had and now that he is gone it all means nothing. He was my best friend and he meaned more to me than life itself. He was a man who you ethier hated or loved. If you didn't like him you were most likely scared sh*tless of him. If you loved him you knew the greatest man ever to walk the earth. Poppa, I love you and miss you Brady - Posted by: Brady McIvor (Grandon) on: Feb 05, 2013
