WILLIAM DAVID FORBES Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on December 24, 1925 and passed away in Victoria on August 31, 2011. Predeceased by his wife Thelma. Dave is survived by his children: Roberta, Janet, David, Glenn, Cathy, Gary, Cameron, Ronald and their families. Sisters, Ruby Cochrane and Mary Price, both from Victoria. His sister-in-law Margaret Lievense of California, and many other relatives and lifelong friends across Canada. Also predeceased by brothers, Len, Ian and Wayne. Dave was a proud veteran of the Second World War, serving his time with the Canadian Army in Europe. Dave was an extremely independent person but would be the first if help was needed. He gathered friends from his many moves from BC, Alberta and Manitoba. His humour and quick wit sustained him. He loved children and enjoyed their company. All of his grandchildren have a story or special moment about him. A special thank you to the staff for the excellent level of care he received in his final years at the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion. No funeral by request. Private interment at Hatley Cemetery in Colwood. Flowers gratefully declined but a donation may be made to the Kiwanis Pavilion, The Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice. We will miss you Dad.
