Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE KLEMENT (nee AMY) 1932 - 2011 Joyce died on May 29, 2011 at a private care home in Kingsport, TN. Born in Winnipeg, MB, the sixth child of Stella and Garnet Amy, she attended St. Edward's School and graduated from St. Mary's Academy, when she excelled in sports and art. She taught Kindergarten and Grade One in Catholic schools in LeBret, SK, Winnipeg and Brandon, MB and Farmers Branch, TX. Her teaching career continued, coaching G.E.D. students in Virginia. She received the Golden Apple Award and in 2010 the Discovery School for Girls in Dillwyn, VA dedicated their building to Joyce Klement, Whose Patience and Dedication Prepared Her Students For Life Beyond School . She was an inspiration to many. Joyce is survived by her husband of 45 years, Melvin Klement; her son Robert (Donna) Klement of Cumberland, VA; her daughter Tammy Jamerson of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren Tiffany, Christie, A.J. and Justin; great-grandchildren, Caden, Peyton and Rhyland. Also left to cherish her is her brother Russ (Georgina) Amy, Winnipeg; ten nieces, five nephews, their offspring and friends who were touched by her bright, warm spirit. She was godmother to her niece, Barbara Potkonjak, teacher at St. Gerard School. Predeceased by parents Stella (Mineault) Amy (1896 to 1955) and Garnet Amy (1886 to 1959); sisters Verna Hartley (1917 to 1975), Lorraine Hebert (1920 to 1963), Margaret Sawchuk (1926 to 1995); brother Wilbert Amy (1919 to 1986); niece Roberta (Hebert) Varner (1954 to 1997); grandnephew Chrystopher Breland (1977 to 2003). Cremation and Funeral took place in Kingsport, TN. A mass to celebrate her life will be held on September 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 45 Foster St., Winnipeg. Father Pierre Wood officiating.
