PHYLLIS SHAW Peacefully, on May 4, 2011 Phyllis was called to eternal rest to be with her husband George, son Georgie, sister Evelyn, mother and father Victoria and Fred. She is survived by her only daughter Evie, sisters Janette and Verna, niece and nephews. Phyllis was born in Winnipeg on April 30, 1927 and lived in Winnipeg most of her life. She moved to Chicago, but returned home to Winnipeg to work in the family business. After retiring, she enjoyed spending winters with her daughter in the U.S. Phyllis had a kind and gentle nature and remained a devout Catholic all her life. Her deep faith gave her strength and courage to meet many of her life's challenges especially her brave battle with cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Michael West, Dr. Nasser Ahmed, Dr. David Eisenstadt, the staff at H.S.C., the caring staff of Tuxedo Villa; Janette and Ivan and Vicki for their kind care and concern during her final battle, and to Alex and Dar for all their love and support. It broke my heart the day you were called away - my Mom - my best friend. I miss you so, our special friendship, long talks, your smile and your touch. Forever in my heart and prayers.
