AUDREY FOOT (nee HUGHES) Our dearly beloved sister and aunt passed away suddenly on September 7, 2011. Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband Jim, and her brother Tommy. She is survived by her brother William Hughes and sister Jackie Sokoloski of Winnipeg, and her brother Howard Hughes of Seattle. She has numerous nieces and nephews of whom she was very proud. Audrey was born to Margaret and Thomas David Hughes on October 14, 1927. She grew up in Transcona. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, shopping and reading a good romance. Audrey worked for Acklands on Higgins for many years, transferring to Acklands Granger where she eventually retired. Thanks to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service staff for their professional care, and a special thank you to Jackie Jr. for always being there. Thanks to Tony, her hair stylist for always making sure aunt looked her best. Celebration of Audrey's life will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2011 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would graciously appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice.
