MONIKA BLAIR Passed away peacefully on the morning of August 23, 2011, after courageously battling cancer for several months. Born in Germany in 1944, Monique immigrated with her mother and younger sisters to join her stepfather in Selkirk, MB in 1954. While working for Air Canada in Winnipeg, she met and married Bryan Blair in 1967. They and their son Christopher lived in several cities across Canada, finally settling in Brampton, ON. There Monique worked for A P for more than 20 years, primarily in the floral department. Monique expressed her creativity in many ways, including interior decorating, land-scaping, gardening, painting and beautiful knitting for family and friends. Monique is greatly missed by her son Christopher, husband Bryan, mom Anneliese, stepdad Karl-Calden, sisters Hildegard (Jim) and Rika (Jeff), brothers Michael and Robert, sisters-in-law Heather and Martha, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and longtime friends Christa, Helen and Claire. Monique was predeceased by father Johannes, brother Walter and nephew Michael. A celebration of Monique's life will take place on Saturday, September 17 at 3:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Selkirk, MB (6088 PTH #9A). Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of your choice.
