WILFRED LAVOIE On September 7, 2011, peacefully with his family by his side, Wilfred went to his eternal rest at the Deer Lodge Centre. He was born October 7, 1925 in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his son Darcy; his parents Omer and Maria; brothers: Edward, Paul, Ephrem, and Alcid; sisters Josephine, Irene and Amy. He is survived by his wife May; children Debbie (Craig) Ross, Alan (Trish) and Leanne (Wayne) Yashuk; grandchildren Stephen (Jenny), Lisa (Chris), Mandy, Alex, Kristy, Danielle and Eric; special great-granddaughter Sophie; brother Eugene (Hallie); sisters Olive Sellers and Berthe (Gordon). Wilfred was a Veteran of the Second World War. He was a life time member of the Norwood St. Boniface Legion. His family wishes to thank the nurses and care givers at Deer Lodge Centre for the special care given to Wilfred and his family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family R.C. Church, 778 Archibald Street, Winnipeg. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Deer Lodge Centre, Tower 6, Recreation Program, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3J 0L3.
