CHRISTOPHER RICHARD PASTETNIK Our beloved son and brother, Christopher, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on the evening of Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the age of 29 years. Besides his parents Linda Pastetnik of Winnipeg and Richard Pastetnik of Blairmore, Alberta he is survived by his sister Erica Pastetnik (Tracey), and brothers Matthew (Megan) Pastetnik and Nathan Pastetnik. Also mourning are his best friend Jason Dornbush; and the apple of his eye, son Blake, who he loved as his own. He also leaves to mourn his passing: grandparents John and Josie Truant from Bellevue, Alberta, many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Christopher was predeceased by his Baba, Anne Serediuk November 2010. Christopher was born on January 3, 1982 in Blairmore, Alberta and at age five and a half developed diabetes. Chris would be the first to tell you that this was his greatest challenge throughout his lifetime. Chris loved being a Sea Cadet because of his love of sailing and being on the water. He always cherished the time he spent in Cadets whether it was at camp or teaching biathlon or going to meetings. Chris was a good cook and would try his creative recipes on his family. He loved his family deeply, always keeping everybody informed and planning family outings. Chris was also fiercely loyal to his friends. We all miss you already Chris. The family would like to thank the following: Home Care worker Gail, Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, St. Boniface Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Dialysis units at St. Boniface and Seven Oaks Hospitals, and our family physician Dr. David Crawford and his wife Carla. Viewing and Prayers will be said on Tuesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Christopher's memory to DERCA (The Diabetic Education Resource for Children and Adolescents) at Health Sciences Centre, Canadian Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. • Wow, I ran into a classmate of ours Sanxay at 7 oaks hospital and he told me about what happened. I had to see it for myself and now that I know its true, I am really sad as I remember trying to re connect with you over facebook after we graduated our HCA course. Even though I knew you weren't a big fan. I wish I coulda told you this in person Chris but thanks for being my friend throughout the whole experience. We made an awesome team in the class and during practicum. I learned a lot from you and you never let me doubt myself when stuff got stressful over the course of that time. I will never forget you and I hope you rest peacefully in paradise. Goodbye bro. My condolences go out to all your family and close friends - Posted by: Michael Sebastian (Friend/Classmate) on: Oct 21, 2013
