HELEN JANE MOERLAND (nee MACKLIN) 1940 - 2011 Helen ended her life journey at home, peacefully, and with family at her side, at the age of 70. Left to celebrate her life are her children: Jake, Lenora (David), Teresa (Raymond), her grandchildren: Andrew, Trevor, Mason and Majestic, and her brothers and sisters: Andrew (Frances), Betty, Richard (Elaine), Edna (Phil), Carol (Tim) and Gilbert. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Leo, her parents: Andrew and Annabella, and her brothers: Cecil and Randy. Helen was born and raised in Matlock, Manitoba. Early in life Helen moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Leo and together raised their family. Helen worked as a health care aide and was employed at Central Park Lodge for over 25 years, during which she established many life-long friendships. We would like to thank Lenora and our angel David for their very personal involvement in Oma's care as well as all of our family who helped us make Oma's wish to be at home come true. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, support staff and the Palliative Care Team of the Grace Hospital. As per Helen's request, cremation has taken place. A luncheon and interment will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Helen believed people should put others before themselves; therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
