MANUEL DA ROSA August 12, 1933 - September 12, 2011 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel Rosa on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the age of 78 years. He is predeceased by his wife Alice Rosa and his parents. Left to forever cherish Manuel's memory are his two daughters Lucia (Francisco) and Elizabete (Isidro) and his son Joao and all his grandchildren Marcia (Gareth), Marco (Stephanie), Michael (Asta), Tania, and Isidro-Manuel. He is also survived by his three brothers, Joao, Jose, and Frank and five sisters, Adelaide, Lucia, Maria, Teresa, and Irene and many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States, Brazil and Portugal. Manuel was born in Vila de Sao Sebastiao in Angra Do Heroismo, Terceira, Acores. Manuel immigrated to Canada in 1975 where he brought his family to a better life. His most enjoyable pass times were watching bull fights, soccer and going fishing and camping. Prayers will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church located on the corner of Munroe and Brazier Street, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Holy Ghost Cemetery on Main St. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in lieu of flowers.
