DORIS GARVIN (nee CHOQUETTE) January 19, 1934 August 25, 2011 It is with deep sadness Doris' children: Brenda, Donna, David, Tim, Cecile and families announce the passing of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her son Neil; siblings: Peter, Florence, Angeline and her parents Hernorius and Louise. Mom was born and raised on a farm in Wawota, SK. She later moved to Brandon, MB where she attended St. Michael's Academy. After marrying and while raising her children she moved to Winnipeg to continue her university education. She then accepted a position with Meadowood Manor Nursing Home where she retired after 22 years of dedicated service. Mom had many passions, one of them being her very special relationship with God. She loved music and played the piano for everyone. She also played the organ at Mass for over 25 years first at St. Vital and later at St. Emile Churches. Mom volunteered for many events through her church, work and residence. She especially delighted in donating toys for the Children Fun Fair. She loved camping and the outdoors, bowling, playing cards, laughing, a good water fight and gave the best hugs. She will be greatly missed but we know she is in God's warm embrace and only a whisper away. We love you. In keeping with Doris' wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Emile Roman Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Rd.
