STANLEY PHILLIP KOWASKI It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Stan Kowaski, on September 18, 2011 at the age of 72. Stan will be dearly missed by his wife Verna, his daughters Geneen, and Launa (Jason), grandchildren Tanner and Regan, sisters Stella and Marge, brothers Johnny (Jean), Donny and Jerry (Sharon), and numerous nieces and nephews. Stan was born July 8, 1939 in Canora, Saskatchewan. He was raised on the family farm south of Okla, Saskatchewan until he was 17 years old and moved to Winnipeg where he resided until his passing. Stan was a loving husband to his wife Verna. They met in 1959 and were married in 1962 and have spent 49 years together. He was also an avid lover of the outdoors. He lived for hunting and fishing, and the great outdoors. He loved spending time ice fishing with his grandson Tanner. All who knew Stan will attest to his knowledge, many accomplishments and most of all his strength especially in his last days. Stan will be dearly missed by his family and all his friends. Rest in peace now Stan, you are in the Lord's hands and are loved by all. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West. Special thanks are extended to the nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Stan's name.
