ELEANOR JUNE WERNER Eleanor Werner, age 77, of Halifax passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in Northwood Center. Born in Winnipeg, MB, she was a daughter of the late John and Dolly Kiel. She was a longtime employee of the Royal Bank Portland Street. Eleanor was a sister of the Garnet Rebekah Lodge # 30, where she had held numerous executive titles. She is survived by sons, Fred; Jim (Michele); sisters, Joyce and Audrey; uncle, Ewald; grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, Taryn, Adam; great-grandson, Owen. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; brother, Garry. A special thank you is extended to the staff and care givers at Northwood, especially 6 Center for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Shirley Burnstein Hall, Northwood Center, 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax. Pastor Jim Anderson officiating. Reception to follow. Private family interment at a later date in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwood Foundation.
