On Monday, September 19, 2011 George Gillespie passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at 77 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents Ted and Mary, and his daughter Pat McAlpine. George is survived by his wife Enid and her children Jack Dubois (Kim Monson), Toot (Kevin) Minch, Tim (Leah) Dubois, Mikel Dubois (Pearl Tomchuk), nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. George grew up on Ellen Street, attending Victoria Albert and Hugh John McDonald schools. He resided on Banning Street for over 40 years and was a member of Alano Group for 32 years. George served 12 years with the Princess Patricia Light Infantry, signing up at age 17, including service in Korea, Africa, Europe and postings across Canada. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Canadian Linen Supply. George was a wonderful husband and father, and had a great sense of humour to the end. We will cherish his memory. Cremation has taken place. At George's request, no service will be held.
