MARY CHYTYK (nee SISETSKI) January 18, 1914 - September 16, 2011 Mary passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2011. She was born in the St. Julien, Saskatchewan district on January 18, 1914. She married Metro Chytyk November 22, 1931; they farmed at Bonne Madone, Saskatchewan for a few years. They had two children, Rosalind and Orest, then sold the farm and relocated to Tarnapol. Eventually, in 1947, they moved to Prince Albert and lived there until retirement. Mary was widowed in 1988. Her daughter passed away in 1997 so in 2000 she moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba to be close to her son, Orest. Mary lived in Winnipeg for over ten years, but her last six months was confined to a personal care home at Vista Park Lodge. Mary was predeceased by her husband Metro, her daughter Rosalind, her parents, and all her siblings. Mary is survived by her son Orest (Betty) Chytyk; her three grandchildren: Carol Bais, Dawn (Ron) Kristalovich, and Paul Chytyk (David Schnell); her three great-grandsons: Terrence, Jonah, and Adrian; and her three great-granddaughters: Xenia, Amanda and Amy. A Funeral Service was held Friday, September 23, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Prince Albert, with Fr. Michael Lomaszkiewciz officiating.
