MARCEL DUFAULT At home in the presence of family, after a brief illness, Marcel Dufault at the age of 85 passed away, on September 20, 2011. Beloved husband of Yvette (née Gueret); his children, René, Luc, Evelyne (Terry Vermeire), Adrien (Barb Andrews), Alfred (Florence Routhier), Simone (Raymond Syganiec), Marie, Jeanne, Monique (Guy Badiou) and Michelle (Ken McEwan); his grandchildren, Sylvie and Jean-Pierre Dufault, Marc, Chantal, Joey, Mélanie and Sophie Dufault, Scott and Amanda Vermeire, Lori and Danielle Desrochers, Jocelyne Dufault, Claudette, Rhéal and Denis Dufault, Jeannine, Crystal, Lee-Ann, Mathew, Sarina, Natacha and Joshua Syganiec, Ashley and Adam Riege, Nicolas and Phillippe Brunette, Marcelle, Simon, Méline, Cathrine, Rosalie and Jules Badiou, Eric, Megan, Samantha and Kaitlin McEwan. He also leaves to mourn two daughters-in-law Alice Bérubé and Micheline Dufault; two sons-in-law Brian Riege and Aimé Brunette. Marcel is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Norbert (o.m.i), Léo (Doreen), Thérèse (Allyre), Louis, Anita (Roland), Marie-Odile and Arthur; in-laws, Raymond (Lina) Gueret, Damien (Joan) Gueret, Clémence Dufault, Jeanne Dufault, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren to mourn his passing. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Marie (née Morin), his brothers Paul, André and Henri, his sister Sr. Cécile, his sister-in-law Claire Dufault, his brother-in-law Marcel Gueret, his daughter Annette and his grandson Steven Vermeire. Dad was born in St. Lupicin on September 25, 1925. He married Yvette in 1952 and together they raised 11 children. Marcel and his brother Paul farmed together in St. Lupicin and in Somerset for most of their lives. Dad was well known and active in the community. He was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and member of the Somerset Co-op Board. The family would like to thank the caregivers whose attention made it possible for Dad to stay at home during his brief illness. Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be celebrated in the Notre Dame de la Nativité Catholic Church, in Somerset, MB on Monday, September 26, 2011. Prayers, Eulogy and Video Tribute at 1:15 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Interment in the Somerset Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lorne Memorial Health Foundation. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
