SOPHIE SCHENKER June 15, 1927 - September 22, 2011 After a long courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sophie Schenker, aged 84 years at the Selkirk General Hospital with family by her side. Sophie was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, William. She leaves to mourn her two sons, Walter (Barb) and Wilbert (Inez); grandchildren, Lisa (Rod), Susie (Paul), Jeff (Jodi), Ashley, Sabrina (Ryan); six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Veronica (Earl) and Emma (Sepp), and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Petersfield, MB. With Father Dado Parrenas officiating. Interment will follow in the Churchyard cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital, Doctors Ansar and Lezack; CancerCare Manitoba and Gilbart Funeral Home.
