ALLISTAIR (AL) V. MILLS Peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 Allistair V. Mills passed away at the age of 89 years. Al was predeceased by his parents John and Ruth Mills, his brother Verent, sister Eileen, sister-in-law Alma and brother-in-law Bill. Left to cherish Al's memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Alice, his children Don, Trish (Doug), Shelby (Jack), Diane (Brian) and Carol (Andy), grandchildren Derek, Scott, Alyson, Kyle, Lorelle, Alanna and Samantha as well as many nieces and nephews. Al was born in Virden, Manitoba and grew up in Transcona. He served in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He worked for the C.N.R. for 37 years, after retiring he worked for Active Chemicals. Thank you to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and care they gave to Al. Respecting Al's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make a donation in Al's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Boniface Hospital.
