CONSTANCE EVELYN BROOKS (née GRAHAM) July 22, 1921 - September 26, 2011 Constance Brooks died peacefully Monday morning at 90 years of age. She is survived by her sons John Kielhorn (Daisy) and Kevin Kielhorn, grandchildren Theressa François (José) and Christopher Kielhorn, and great-grandchildren Maxim, Zoé and Simon François. Constance was born and raised in Leeds, England. An avid swimmer, she entered the nursing profession at the outbreak of the Second World War. After marrying her first husband, Paul E. Kielhorn, she moved to Pierson, Manitoba, where she raised her family on a small farmstead. Constance continued working as a Registered Nurse, first in Melita and later in Winnipeg, where she ended her career as an administrator at Concordia Hospital. She married her second husband, Donald H. Brooks, in 1975 and they spent many years traveling together before his death in 2000. Constance was fan of classical opera as well as Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. She never missed an episode of Coronation Street and was a proponent of proper British values and behaviour. As per Constance's request, her ashes will be spread over the Atlantic Ocean where she fondly remembered swimming as a child. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Catherine Place for the warmth and attention they accorded Mrs. Brooks over the last six years.
