DANIEL (DANNY) ANTHONY GENTES
Born: Feb 02, 1962
Date of Passing: Sep 23, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDANIEL (DANNY) ANTHONY GENTES February 2, 1962 - September 23, 2011 Danny passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Friday, September 23, 2011. He will be forever missed, cherished and remembered by his devoted son Daniel (DJ); stepchildren Tannis and Aaron; brothers Paul (wife Leslie), Bunny (wife Kim) and twin brother Denis; sisters Diane (husband Al) and Teri Gentes; numerous nieces, nephews, close relatives, friends, and loving girlfriend Christine Boychuk. Predeceased by parents Lorraine (nee Perreault) and Ernie Gentes. A truly kind, loving and generous soul he was inspired by faith and his family, especially Daniel (DJ). Danny was incredibly adept as builder, repairman and mechanic, constantly assisting family and friends. Danny overcame personal struggles brought on by the tragic loss of his parents. He was an inspiration and support to others dealing with their own challenges. A quote Danny shared with his dear cousin Phil Boiteau: The difference between religion and spirituality - Religion is for people who don't want to go hell and Spirituality is for people who've been to hell and don't want to go back. In his early years Danny played hockey at Glenwood C.C. He and twin brother Denis were the stars of their 10 and under team that won successive championships. They were coached by brother Paul. A mischievous and adventuresome boy, Danny was also quite the entrepreneur ever finding ways to make money with paper routes, lemonade stands and snow shoveling. As an adult, this evolved to a business venture with close friend Darrell Kopecky in construction. Close to all of his siblings, long distance calls to Diane were sometimes daily, family dinner gatherings at Paul and Leslie's were weekly, Denis and he were regularly wrapped up in various work projects, and he spent many late eve's at brother Bunny's around the fire often bringing him a burger. Danny loved to bring his sisters Diane and Teri to his country home whenever they were in town. He was especially proud of building a home of his own. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Private Christian family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers please contact Yvonne Ness at 204-257-3674 regarding a trust fund for Danny's son Daniel Joseph (DJ).
