Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNES (JOEY) CARLYLE ARNASON August 12, 1932 - September 30, 2011 Joey passed away September 30, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 79 years. Joey is survived by his five children Jon (Wanda), Lorraine (John), Patricia (Doug), Johannes and Kristinn Svein; his five grand-children Lori, Shannon (Parry), Douglas (Cara), Roseanna and Brenden and his three great- grandchildren Ethan, Conner and Alexa. He is also survived by his sister Svala (Gerald) of Alberta as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Hlodver Arnason; brothers Arni, Valur and Harold as well as sisters Margaret and Lillian. Joey was born and raised in Riverton, MB and spent his remaining years in Gimli, MB where he enjoyed many hours of fishing and making sure to attend all the Iceland Festivals (Islendingadagurinn). He took great pride in his Icelandic Heritage and took many opportunities to talk about it. He cherished his family and his lifelong friendship with Margaret Wishnowski. It is our Dad's wishes to have no formal funeral, only a graveside service to be held at Riverton Cemetery on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. A special thanks to the staff at HSC 3rd floor GD Ward and his home care workers.
