LISA STEPHENS (LECHTE)

LISA STEPHENS (nee LECHTE) Lisa Stephens (nee Lechte), loving wife and best friend of Alf Stephens for more than 61 years, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Riverview Health Centre. Lisa was born in Hanover, Germany, and met Alf when he was a member of the British Army serving in Germany after the Second World War. It was a peaceful passing, and Alf was at her bedside along with her loving daughter and granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by her husband Alf, her daughter Christine Snihur and Tony Snihur, her son Lawrence (Sonny Boy), grandchildren Melanie (husband Dane Demianiw), Aaron and Carli. The family would like to tender a heartfelt thank-you to the wonderfully caring nurses and staff at the 3 West Wing Ward at the Riverview Health Centre. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Mark A. Tarrant presiding. Lisa was a dedicated animal lover and we know that, in lieu of flowers, she would appreciate a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
