ERICH ANTON SCHROELL Erich Anton Schroell died peacefully at Victoria Hospice on October 4, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Heidi, and his stepson, Hans Hendel (Barbara). His stepson Rolf Hendel predeceased him in 2002. He will be missed also by his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Erich was born in Tuschkau, Czech Republic (then Germany), on June 10, 1929. He and Heidi immigrated to Canada in 1954 and resided in Winnipeg for many years, followed by moves to Alberta, BC, and Ontario. They moved to Victoria in 2003 to be closer to family. Erich was a skilled and inventive carpenter and cabinet maker, an activity he carried on until recent years. He also enjoyed the evening card games with the friends he made at Shannon Oaks and Ross Place. At Erich's request, there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to the Vancouver Island Kidney Patients' Association, Victoria Hospice Society, or the charity of your choice.
