Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH LORENTZ August 14, 1920 - October 6, 2011 After a long and fulfilling life, the Lord saw our mother/grandmother getting tired and weak. Peacefully, on Thursday, October 6, 2011 with her entire family by her side, Edith was called home to her Lord and Saviour. Left to forever cherish Edith's memory are her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren (Dennis and Linda, Laura and Jethro, Michelle, Michael Rachelle, Jace), (Dianne and Ed, Jennie, Jason, Gabby, Sadie, Danica), (Mary-Anne and Greg, Meaghan, Mikayla), (Dan and Karin, Josh); as well as by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry; her parents; and siblings Emmy, Alma, Emil, Ada and Art. Mom's joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She loved gardening and enjoyed spending a lot of time in her backyard. She was a dedicated foster parent for 30 years and provided a loving home for numerous children in need. Edith's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of The Cross, 560 Arlington Street, with Rev. Kolleen Karlowsky - Clark, presider. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Don and Joan Lorentz for their love and support during this difficult time. A very special thank you to the staff on Nighthawk 2 in Middlechurch Home for all the excellent care they provided to our Mom.
