Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY GWEN GAGE August 4, 1921 - September 30, 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Gage (Matthews). She was predeceased by her first husband, Elbert (Cam) Cameron in 1954, her second husband, Gordon Gage in 2003, her brothers, Allan and Murray, and her stepson, Jim. She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Ches) Maciorowski, her son, Doug (Linda) Gage, her stepson, Ross (Maureen) Gage, her stepson, Stuart (Pat) Gage, her grandchildren Michael (Becky), Reid, Ben, Scott (Jaimie), Graham (Jennifer), Shannon (Christian), Jamie (April), Jennifer (Michael) and her great-grandchildren Emily, Gordie, Carter, Charles and Jameson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Matthews. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg on August 4, 1921, the daughter of Harry and Pauline Matthews. She attended schools in Winnipeg and Calgary. Dorothy graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Home Economics Degree in 1941. She was an active volunteer with the Junior League of Winnipeg, the General Hospital White Cross Guild and Middlechurch Home. During her life she enjoyed figure skating at the Winnipeg Winter Club, golfing at the St. Charles Country Club (where she was proud to achieve two holes in one), playing bridge with long time friends and gardening. Summers were spent at Gull Lake beginning in the late 1940s, and later at the Gage family camp at Kenora. Cruising the waters of Lake of the Woods and picnicking with family and friends were two of her fondest pleasures. Dorothy will always be remembered by family and friends for her impeccable style and grace, her attention to detail and her artistic sense of colour and design. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews River Heights United Church Foundation or the charity of your choice.
