EVAN MICHAEL ANDREW PAUL DUPUIS We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Evan at the age of 16 years on October 5, 2011. He will be forever loved and missed by his family, parents Ray and Marcie, brother Jordan, aunts Connie and Christine, uncle Curwood and cousins Jaymie and Alexandra. He was predeceased by his grandparents William and Anne Dupuis. Evan will also be sadly missed by extended family members and his many friends and classmates. Evan was born and raised in Winnipeg and was in Grade 11 at St. John's-Ravenscourt School. Evan really enjoyed and appreciated being a student at SJR and worked hard on his studies. He loved soccer, golfing, fishing, travelling with his family and playing with our dog Joey. Evan was an excellent swimmer and was near completion of his National Lifesaving certification. He was known for his constant smile, gentle nature, thoughtfulness and sense of humour. Our lives will be forever changed without our Evan. Words cannot express our sense of loss. The family would like to thank everyone who tried so valiantly to save Evan after he collapsed while playing soccer, including SJR staff, parents, teammates, paramedics and the physicians and nurses at Children's Hospital Emergency. Please note the change in date of the service. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford Street with interment and reception to follow at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Boulevard. The pallbearers will be Evan's close friends Jon Kapac, Luke Kapac, Alan Scarth, David Ladyman, Tim Borger and Silas Koulack. Honourary pallbearers will be Evan's longtime friends Stefan Guzzi and Matt Demeke. In lieu of flowers a donation to Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba in Evan's name would be appreciated. Donations can be made by calling 204-953-5437. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I read your beautiful tribute to your son Evan this morning and wanted to share this story. I was alone with my 94 year old aunt when she passed away. Her only child passed away when she was ust j4 years old. Sylvia was disabled and never walked. My aunt always said God sent me to her so she wouldn't feel so lonely. The relationship I had with my aunt was a blessing to me. When my aunt took her last breath, I closed my eyes and clearly saw a little girl running toward us, through a yellow field of canola with outstretched arms and a huge smile on her face. Blessings to you and your family today and always. A friend in Christ - Posted by: Debby (Friend in Christ) on: Sep 30, 2012
