MERVYN LYNDEN (LYN) SCOTT Lyn Scott passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2011 in St. Boniface Hospital ICU with his wife and mother-in-law at his side. He was predeceased by his mother Betty in 1964, niece Melanie in 1998, father-in-law Les Wedge in 2005, stepmother Mary in 2005 and father Merv in 2010. Lyn's passing is especially mourned by his loving wife, Linda, daughter Jeannie, son Kevin (Lacey) and brother Dennis (Dianne). He was very close to his mother-in-law Iris, brother-in-law Les Jr. and Terry (Carren) and sister-in-law Darlene, step-siblings Carl (Alice) Nieman and Sharon Pedlar. Uncle Lyn was very fond and proud of his nephews - Tim and Derek Scott (Aimee, Zak, and Odin) and Darren Wedge (Brianne). Lyn was born February 18, 1947 in Stephenfield and in April, 1950 moved with his family to Narcisse. He worked in the PFRA pasture at Mulvihill for a short while and then at the CN shops in Transcona, living with his aunt and uncle Bill and Millie Sailor and family. He married Linda on October 10, 1971 and moved to the Gordon area where they built their home and raised their children. Lyn was founding member of the MRCA (Manitoba Rodeo Cowboy Association) and he and Linda were proud to be made lifetime members and recognized for their contributions at the finals in Brandon several years ago. He also enjoyed being on the organizing committee for the annual Stonewall Toy Show. Lyn was an outgoing, friendly person who had many friends. He enjoyed striking up conversations and sharing stories wherever he went - no one was a stranger to Lyn for long. A celebration of his life will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation D1003-409 Tache Ave. or a charity of your choice. MACKENZIE FUNERAL SERVICE STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 MACKHOME@MTS.NET
