ALFRED (FREDDY) GAUVREAU September 17, 1928 - October 6, 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Fred Gauvreau on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Victoria Hospital at the age of 83 after a long struggle with diabetes and heart problems. Fred will always be loved and remembered by his wife Sally of 62 years, sons: Larry (Sandi), Rick (Debbie), Garry (Heather) and daughter Shirley (Larry) Reid; grandchildren: Staci and Ashli Gaurvreau, Heather-Lynn and Glen Gauvreau, Ryan and Aimee Reid, Tyler, Jordan and Breanna Gauvreau. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters and brothers. Fred grew up in the St. Boniface area, attending Provencher School - hockey being his best subject. For 20 years Fred and Sally lived in East St. Paul, then moved onto Lac du Bonnet for the summer and Courtenay, BC for the winter with final retirement in South St. Vital. He has always enjoyed being with his family and many friends and traveling throughout Canada and Europe. In keeping with Fred's wishes, cremation has taken place and a reception in honour of Fred's life will be held on Tuesday, October 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald St. Flowers are gratefully declined, sympathies only.
