HELEN KATHLEEN BROWN (nee NORMAN) 1929 - 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Brown, our dear sister, aunt and friend, at the Grace Hospital on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the age of 82 years. Remaining to forever cherish Helen's memory are her loving sister, Edith Petursson; sister-in-law Chloe Norman and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who meant everything to her and were really more like her own children. Helen was predeceased by her husband Laverne (Barney); parents, Claude and Bertha Norman; sisters, Ragna, Irene, Marion and Ina; and brothers, Gilmore, Bertram, Walter and Robert. Helen was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba on January 3, 1929 and was raised in Mulvihill, Manitoba. As a young woman, Helen moved to Winnipeg and worked most of her life as a clerk at Standard Aero. Helen was a kind, fun-loving, resilient and generous woman, who will forever be in the hearts of her extended family and friends. She will be missed by her dog, Mandy. On Friday, October 14, 2011, Helen's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place with Rev. Sharon Wilson, presider. A private family interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery following her reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.
