ARDELLA CLAYDON (nee BRENNAN) It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother on Friday, October l, 2011. Predeceased by her husbands, Gurth Claydon and Clifford Brennan and grandson James, she is survived by her daughter, Donna Dupuis (Gordon) and her sons, Norman (Lynne) and Mark (Denise) of Lahaina, Maui. She has seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Born and raised in Birtle, MB, Mom came to Winnipeg as the bride of Gurth Claydon. They settled in St. Vital, where they raised their children. Mom was a great homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She was a Charter Member and Past President of the St. Boniface/St. Vital Inner Wheel Club and Canada's representative at the Third International Inner Wheel Convention held in Sydney, Australia. She was a member and active for many years with the Khartum Ladies Auxiliary. For the past several years, Mom played in a band, The Naturals, which play the Oldtime Favourites, when called upon to entertain at numerous seniors' locations. She played the button accordion, but was mostly recognized as the girl who strummed the gut bucket and the Stumpff Fiddle! We would like to thank Cliff's daughter, Margaret Ann Bell (Gordon), for her thoughtfulness to Mom, and to Mom's niece, Nancy and husband Ken Turnbull, who were faithful visitors. We appreciate all her extended family, friends and caregivers who brightened Mom's days this past year of Convalesance. A memorial service will be held, Friday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd., Phone 257-0678 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ardella Claydon's memory to the Salvation Army, or her grandson, Michael's missionary work with the M.A.F. in Kenya.
