EUGENE PAUL ANDRYO February 8, 1942 - October 9, 2011 Surrounded by his loving family, our devoted Husband, Father and Gigi went home to the Lord on Sunday evening, October 9, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Eugene leaves to honour and cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth (nee Rempel), son Joedy, daughter Michelle Howarth (Robert), grandchildren Ashton (nine) and Ava (five), brother Raymond (Carlyle), sister-in-law Mary-Ann Wiebe, sister-in-law Ruth Lockhart (John), brother-in-law John Rempel and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, cousins and caring friends. He was predeceased by his parents Jennie and Michael, nephew Corey, parents-in-law Mary and Henry Rempel and brother-in-law Henry Wiebe. With his wife and children, Eugene worked hard to create a beautiful life for his family in St. Andrews and his business skills allowed him to build successful ventures. He had a generous and loving nature, enjoyed cooking, barbequing, Sunday drives, playing cribbage and helping others whenever he could. He had a natural love for the outdoors - he was an avid fisherman and deer hunter - but his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. We would like to offer special thanks to his Palliative Home Care nurse, Ann, the nurses and aides in the Palliative Care Unit at Seven Oaks General Hospital and Dr. Greg Wilson for their outstanding care of our husband and father. Many thanks also to those who called and visited in his last days. In keeping with Eugene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a service to honour his memory will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 13 at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or The Gideons.
